Trump: Peyton's Place should be Miami

DORAL, Florida with friends like The Donald, the Jets don't need enemies.

Trump, South Beach to hype his purchase of 150 million dollars of Resort Doral, betrayed the jets of his friend Woody Johnson when he said Thursday he "would love to see" sign of Peyton Manning with dolphins.

"First of all (owner of dolphins) Steve Ross is a good friend of mine," Trump shouted before a room full of reporters and cameras at Cadillac WGC, which Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Rory McIlroy were fighting it out in the first round. "He is a member of my club in Palm Beach and I think that Peyton would be great for Miami. It would be a fantastic thing for this zone. "

Johnson, who has his own jet in pursuit of Manning, is BFFs with Trump, too — he entertained Trump in the owner's box at castings and owns a condo in one of the buildings of signature Trump, Trump International Hotel and Tower at Columbus Circle. Johnson can also see the Trump National Golf Club from his home of exclusivity Bedminster, N.J.

Last love Trump, dolphins, seem to be the main competition of the castings for Manning, the future Hall of Fame quarterback, who happens to own a condo in South Beach.

Donald, who knows both Peyton and his brother, Eli, quarterback of the Super Bowl MVP of the Giants, fainted on Miami and Manning.

"I'm a fan. I am a friend. I did a commercial with Peyton and his brother for Oreo, who got the spot of the year, and I think it was due to them, not me. But I made a big publicity and was an incredible business. And they are great guys and Peyton is a great guy.

"And would love to see him come to Miami".

Trump Resort, where luxury apartment towers on the Hudson River and overlooking the Plaza of Nations, home to scores of athletes New York, fell in South Florida with his wife, Melania, that will be very involved in 200 million redo of Doral, one of the most historic of Florida.

After falling short in a bid to buy a NFL team, Trump owned New Jersey generals of the United States Football League in the 1980s unfortunate. Owns several golf courses in the tristate area and is seen regularly at Madison Square Garden and Yankee Stadium.

He seems to have a soft spot for the Giants, too.

"I think the Giants will return again next year," he said after the Giants won the Super Bowl. "They have a great coach, they have a great team, they have a fantastic quarterback — I think you're going to be back."
