Actress Nicollette Sheridan does not have any formal demand action after his boss "Desperate Housewives" allegedly "attacked" her because she was trying to keep his job, his lucrative entertainment attorney testified Tuesday.
Attorney Neil Meyer said jurors Sheridan called him "very upset" and said the September 24, 2008 Show creator Marc Cherry had just hit her head "very hard" during a test.
Meyer said he figured it must have been "pretty bad" because "you wouldn't just call me like that."
He later called Howard Davine, an advocate of Corporate Affairs for the ABC hit show, informally reporting the incident, he said.
"I said that not seeking ABC/Disney do nothing why Nicollette was concerned about retribution by Marc Cherry. She was willing to just put my head down and then return to work, "Meyer told the jury. "She was worried that if we (pursued the matter), his work would be in danger. ...She told me that Mr. Cherry was a very vindictive man. "
Said Davine later sent a letter saying an internal investigation found no irregularities.
"I heard that it was like a wash of white. It was a self-serving letter, "he said.
Sheridan's termination from the show just a few months later in February "shocked" him, he said.
"It struck me as retaliation," he said.
Sheridan, 48, has sued Cherry and show top brass for millions, claiming Cherry walloped her "tough" when she questioned him about a change script when comparing rehearsal 2008. His lawsuit, filed in April 2010, claims that she was fired five months later because he said it crossed the line.
The blonde bombshell, who played Edie Britt housewife trampy for five seasons, said earlier the incident with the jurors left her feeling "Cherry" humiliated ".
Cherry, meanwhile, has characterized his action as a minor physical Overture intended to give a direction Sheridan for a scene.
"Tapped his head," said during testimony Monday, adding that "fingers" were the parts of the body that came into contact with Sheridan. When Sheridan's lawyer, Mark Baute, said Cherry described the body as part of the "right" in deposition testimony, seasoned comedy writer took the opportunity to score a laugh.
"Yes," Cherry said, "you're attached to my right."
Cherry described the faucet as liaison with Sheridan "upside the head" and said it was part of a demonstration of a "hint" that he wanted his character to give her husband on the screen.
